My Thoughts on Tarot vs. Oracle

Fun fact: I once had to stop my daily 1-card draws because they were so dead on, I decided it was best not knowing what was coming.

I’m often asked the difference between tarot and oracle. I always say that oracle is like your best friend, hyping you up, making you feel warm and fuzzy. Tarot, on the other hand, is the best friend who tells you how it is, whether it’s what you want to hear or not.

I watch (listen to) entirely too much news. I have MSNBC (now MSNOW) on in the background all day while I work. Most of the time, it’s just noise, repetitive noise, but when I do tune in, I end up opening up Facebook to check out what both the right and left news profiles are saying. Because you have to know what you’re up against, right?

This can’t be healthy. There has to be a way to stay informed, stand up for what’s right, and still maintain some semblance of balance.

It’s also a kick in the ass to stop worrying about everything all the time, in politics and beyond. It’s not helpful but it is kind of neurotic. Believe me, I’ve been doing it for decades.

Caring and empathy are good traits, being completely overwhelmed by them, not so much. This card is a reminder to use inner strength and energy in a more focused and, hopefully, productive way.
